Most people in ancient china were farmers, life was hard but it was still comfortable because you would get a reasonable amount of food. They were respected by many other social classes because they supplied everyone else’s food with their tax. They lived in a small village and farmed together

Food was generally determined by where you lived, in the north most people ate millet (grain), in the south the main crop was rice. This was nearly all you would eat unless you were the emperor or you lived near a river of farm when you ate meat and fish.

China didn't have as many provences in anchent times where as now china has many provences and modern China has a slghtly differen shaped border.
